DAY 2

Hello Amigos!
Here we are, day 2 of our trip.  This morning started out bright and early on the bus.  We had to take an alternate route due to one of the main roads being closed.  Let's just say we took a very, very scenic mountain road.  Madre  mia!  :) :)
We have done a lot of sitting on the bus the past two days, but we get to see amazing scenery.  Costa Rica is a beautiful country.

Our first destination today was the Sarapiqui River.  We took a small boat down this river with our guide and the guy driving the boat.  We were the only ones on the river!  Our guides, and us kept our eyes open for all sorts of animals.  Now you can play "Where's Waldo?" to see if you can spot all of the animals we saw!

Did you find monkeys, a baby crocodile, a toucan, lizards, and iguanas?  (Oops, I might have forgot a picture of the iguana...)  Anyway, we had fun seeing the animals, especially the howler monkeys.  We got to see them crawling around, hanging, eating leaves, and seven some babies w/ their mom.

After the boat ride, we went to "Hacienda Poco Azul" where our group and the Iowa group did zip lining.  Wheeeee.
Now, it was pretty much impossible for us to take our cameras with us, so unfortunately we don't have pictures of our zip lining.  Here is a picture of the last cable we did though, can you see how it goes way up into the trees??  Oh la la.  We had to get right on the bus when we were done, because the main road was open again (yippeee) but we needed to get going to beat the rain.
Tomorrow we look forward to a bit calmer day where we will stay around the little village where our host families live.

Check back tomorrow!!!

Thanks for reading. :)
