DAY 1

Hello Readers!

Well, finally posting an update here from Costa Rica!  The past two days have been very, very, busy with no down time!  BUT FUN!

Our day of traveling went very well.  We navigated through O’Hare and Dallas w/o issue.  Upon our arrival in Costa Rica we had two super friendly people waiting for us who work at “El Rancho.”  They took the kids and their luggage to their host families, who were eager to meet the students!

This morning the bus made its route through the village picking up the various students at their meeting points, right near their different houses.  Everyone was VERY chatty and excited to tell us about how the first night with their families went.  Everyone was smiling and happy, so that was a good sign!  They are being very good sports, and have a great attitude, realizing that when things are different, this isn’t bad!  It sounded like they did a good job trying to use their Spanish w/ their families, yay!

This morning we had a very long bus ride up to see the Arenal Volcano.  It was a loooooong twisty drive – not for those prone to care sickness!

The volcano is really pretty and we spent the afternoon swimming in the hot springs, super fun!

Tomorrow is a very early morning, so I will post these pictures for now.  After tomorrow, our days get a bit calmer, so please keep checking back for pictures and updates.

Hasta luego!

These mountains are called "The Sleeping Indian" can you tell why?

At the hot springs!  One of the many pools....
